the post of blue and white, plus a little black and brown.

right now it turns out that i only have one full time job which involves weekend shoots - yes, the one at the production house as an AP. but it's good - cos that means i still have time to do the things that i want to do. like shop online and etc eheheh :)

anyway, i'm surprised to know that the feedback form at mango at wisma atria is so sloppy. just this week, i met up with jiahui to be introduced to a gorgeous royal-purplish-blue outfit, which i just had to get. and being the non-mango fan that i am, it is such a surprise that they carry that basic yet desireable piece. wahaha. well, it's a pity their quality control sucks to the max, cos the piece which I initially chose had 2 holes and stitching that ran. so they brought me a new piece, which was worse. the smocking at the bust had only 3 layers, whereas the design's supposed to consist of four. it's shocking really, because with only 3 layers, nobody would be able to cover up their boobs unless they're of a cup size of AAA. some other pieces they let me try on were too short in terms of their length, and when I almost gave up on trying more pieces, the staff offered to bring all that they have in their store room out for me to try on. they also discouraged me from purchasing the one I had initially chosen because of the price of the item, and promptly stuck stickers onto the item to signify that it was flawed. Then, they offered to reserve the piece for 3 days to provide time for me to think about it.They were just so patient and kind throughout the 1h+ that I was in the store - something I'd usually never expect from local service personnel, seriously.

And guess what? when i wanted to compliment them for their excellent service, i was presented with a crappy feedback form which did not have any thing that said "name of staff" or "additional comments/suggestions". all it had were 3 criteria "product knowledge", "greet with a smile" and "courteousness", with options like excellent, satisfactory and poor. given no choice and no lines for words to be written on, i simply found a space to write a thank you note + more info on what they had done for me. then, on my way out of the store, i saw a pair of jeans which i wanted to try on but couldn't locate my size. the salesgirl gave me a piece that's close to what i'm looking for, and suggested i try it. her "just try lah!" attitude was kinda funny and cute, and in no way rude. LOL. what a pity the changing rooms were closed...
bravo. i've not experienced such wonderous and exemplary service from the staff mango before, or from anywhere else in a long, long time. on the contrary, the unhelpful staff at mango's ngee ann city branch never got back to me about the item i enquired about (AS EXPECTED). therefore, i never trust the words "i'll call you after i've checked", or "i'll call you when the stock arrives". it's total bullshit.

so well, i guess this ends my mango episode, which rarely comes about since i was never a fan. (i've only bought 4 items from mango before, a halter, a tank, a notebook and now, the romper wahahaha).

but shopping never ends! i came across this shirt when i was out for lunch with my colleague on friday. it says.. "giving up on shopping is easy. i've done it a hundred times". :X! it feels as if i've never done it before though =/
another place that i went to this week was haji lane. and i saw these gorgeous fitted tanks with words like "insatiable" and "gullible" and "plucky" and "brazen" and etc. etc. i wanted the first 2, but the store was outta sizes :( that's really ok though, because i've bought a couple of good stuff lately, which i wouldn't wear to school - but never mind (as long as they're pretty, it'll do!)
let's revisit what i've gotten lately:

i look like a chinadoll in this dress with my current hairstyle, but that aside, this embroidered cotton voile dress was being sold at haji lane for an exorbitant $199 at a shop with absolutely mean peeps. i hate to bitch, but while most of the people at haji lane are super duper nice (the sweet chirpy birdies), there just has to be just one or two that are black crows. well, where there's the good, there's always bad.

low low low eyelet espadrilles from ralph lauren. i know these look like they're $30 but they're sooo NOT! i purchased these because i couldn't find a similar pair anywhere else with the eyelet detailing, sweet ribbon, peep-toe front and most importantly, a low wedge. an added girly edge to angelic polo dresses from ralph lauren, and possibly i've-not-had-enough-of-summer dresses as well.

P.S the best part about purchasing ralph lauren stuff from their official website online at polo.com (apart from the fact that you get to view the entire ralph lauren collection - obviously including stuff that ain't available in singapore) is that presentable gift boxes are provided so you don't have to crack your brain over giftwrapping!

away from all the western stuff, i have a love for jap brands like sly, moussy, and swordfish. there're many more, such as lip service - which came up with shorts with zippered star pockets.

my most recent jappy purchase: this jacket from swordfish with gorgeous fold-up sleeve ends, fitted sleeves and a removable hoodie, from swordfish, along with another japanese schoolbadge-style jacket, reminds me of the time when i discovered that forever21 is FULL of these schoolbadge-inspired jackets. In china they have these inspired jackets as well, but that belongs in China so it's not so bad. F21's a local store - so it hurts to know that the whole world (in terms of the local scene) would soon be dressed in these jackets. oh WHY THIS JACKET? i could understand if its bags...! well anyway, this pic on the left is taken from the girl who brought in these jackets in from Japan, and needless to say, the pic on the right is from Vivi magazine - a pretty mag for clothes watching and oogling.

here's another dress. not so recent (featured some time ago on vivi, for sly's 40th anniversary if i'm not wrong), but still pretty because it gives me a monroe feel, possibly due to the style of the upper portion of the dress. this is one of the dresses which I feel is superbly mag-material for the gorgeous fashion spreads that people look out for, but other than that, i can't imagine anyone wearing this out as a dress as pictured below. however, in one of the other pics of this dress that i have, the tall model wore it as a top with black shorts. now perhaps that's more wearable.

last but NEVER least, say hello to domo! this comes with loads of love from Strapya and here he is, attached to a handphone strap with a screen-cleaning patch on his back - how useful. i was so upset when these were out of stock earlier this week, so thank God it was restocked with a quantity of just 7! i took 4 pieces (inclusive of one one that's for my bro who bought it for his gf) because i didn't want to regret not doing so! :D
OMG what a long post.

it's ALREADY SUNDAY?!?!?!

i've SURVIVED my third day of work at the production house!!!

anyway, i met up with another director today.. and after that, i came to one conclusion - everyone in the field of production looks younger than their actual age, just like how some of the lecturers in the field of early childhood look 10 years younger than their actual age!!

speaking of production matters, i'll be involved in a shoot at a print centre :D and i think it's totally cool to see what goes on between 10pm and 4am - the time of delivery of our newspapers! woohoo! =D thank God for shoots, cos otherwise i'll be sitting in the office drinking coke all day.

a can of coke a day does not keep the doctor away.

also, i've just been given a crash demonstration on some of the tools which can be used for photo editing in photoshop. (no i have not learnt how to give myself a healthy glow yet). i must say it's pretty amazing heheh. i was taught by the intern before me.. and she says one of the most popular functions of photoshop is its liquify function. what it does is to stretch or to minimise the width of sth, and therefore works as a boob-enlargement or fattyarms-reduction tool. LOL. there were some others.. like the blurring of moles and pimples.. etc. etc. AMAZING. i also learnt that whatever i had learnt before about photoshop has been entirely returned to my teacher. hehe.

i have to mention as well that all the PCs at work are iMacs. and i'm so dead cos i haven't used a mac since secondary school. LOL. but it's pretty cool though, the one at my workstation doesn't have a CPU at all. :D for some other imac related stuff.. well, i guess it just takes some getting used to, but i already feel like getting one for myself at home. :X

werk.

i was so bored last nite as i couldn't sleep, so i decided to make a list of the tops, dresses, bottoms, lingerie sets, scarves and belts that i had. as the paper filled up my eyes grew bigger and bigger, and so did my sense of achievement. muahaha. i like to know that i have some sort of a collection even though i've got so many clothes which i haven't worn yet.

well, the hols are finally here, but i've decided to keep myself busy with 2 jobs. a mostly mon-to-fri internship at a production house, as well as a weekend thang at substance. i've yet to start on the production one, but for the latter, let's just say i'm not really into commission-based stuff still.

why 2 jobs? not because i need the $$ (both jobs don't pay well enough actually) but i'm just looking for sth different from the usual stuff i've been doing. furthermore i couldn't decide between the two, i guess they both had pros and cons, so here i am being greedy once again and choosing both when i could've simply taken on just one.

well i expect it to be an experience nevertheless. this should be the time when i should be working on my professional portfolio and getting a job related to my field of study, but i figured that this is the time when i've got all these quirky job offers and if i want to do this, i have to do it now while i'm studying, not after i graduate. i feel kinda bad though, that because i've been so lazy and tired i haven't had a chance to go back to my previous work place. it's the first and only non-political workplace i've ever come across. kudos to that.

Pick a bag that's made for you

and you could never go wrong..

a couple of weeks bag i was carrying one of my bags out (this time, it's not the car bag), only to be run after by a lady who just wanted to ask me where it's from.

while i felt a little flattered, i was wondering at the same time: just for how long exactly had she been eyeing my bag? and from how far away? that kinda freaked me out for a lil while.

it's not every day that someone RUNS after you and taps you when like she's playing police-and-thief or something, just to ask you where exactly your bag is from.
