my day with ah lia
met Ailay today for lunch and some walking around.
we had din tai fung :X and while i was trying to eat, she told me about how her bf suddenly lifted her up into the air with what he called the Fireman's Lift. boy did she scream in shock and in pain. pain because, the way you would lift a person is by putting your arm around the groin area. pretty secure i guess haha :X and the poor dearie had 6 bruises on her upper arm as they were playing with each other and while her bf only used 10% of his strength during playtime, it probably was a full blow to her arm. i guess this is what happens when your bf becomes a firefighter while serving his national service. he becomes stronger, and the otherwise doesn't-seem-to-put-on-weight fella becomes a put-on-5kg-worth-of-muscles person who has no problems with lifting up waterhoses, mannequins (during practice) and of course, the girlfriend. as i laughed my heart out and my stomach in, it resulted in a tummyache :X i also had to ensure that i do not by accident or whatsoever squeeze the xiao long bao that i was holding with a pair of chopsticks LOL. she made me laugh and laugh when her xlb broke and all the soup came out. i wasn't laughing at that really, i was actually tickled by the way she managed the situation. she frantically tried to scoop the soup which spilled outta the xlb with her spoon and chopsticks without realising that by leaving the xlb on its own instead of putting it into her mouth, more soup from the xlb was slowly leaving its skin. i was laughing too hard to even tell her that :X
i also bought a pair of tights today.. the 40 denier ones that i wanted, with just the right amount of sheerness/opaqueness :P i am happy with them.. but pretty unsure about the rest of the stuff i bought. one of which was a long cotton black tee which had a ribbon which looked like it was made of rags. its too short to be worn as a dress so i wonder if it's a waste of $, and i bought it because i was desperate for work clothes. the fact that it's plain wasn't so much of an issue at that point, i liked the fit (it was perfectly made for mee) and the fact that it was long so i didn't have to worry about showing my butt crack with low-rise jeans. :X well its $23.90 but it looked like it only cost $15.00. crap ;( then there's the other purchase of a bracelet which i thought looked perfect as a hairtie and isn't too loose. i was to preoccupied with the loose issue that it never hit me that it was too heavy to be a hair tie until i got home and tried it on. the good thing is i could always use it as a layering sorta bracelet. =/ but still, i need to be on the lookout for a pretty, classy, black hair tie.
what i really wanted was THE pair of $39.90 - 10% heels in pink :( but they simply looked weird from the back though they were totally pretty and sweet and everything nice when viewed from the front and side. what a pity :( it was such a comfy pair which i was reluctant to let go of, but i knew that if i wasn't happy with just 1 thing that i know i cannot live with, i would never ever wear it - especially not if it'd make me feel insecure.
ailay and i met this old busker on the street who asked if we could spare him a dollar, which each of us did. then he proceeded to wish us good health and thank us several times. how nice of him, but at that time we certainly didn't expect any of those wishes so we simply nodded and continued our walk to taka.
i'm looking forward to meeting ailay next week for a good buffet =D what more can i say~ YAY!~!~!~
