sweet days
during the hols.. i encountered a boy with down syndrome on the bus.
as we all know, public buses have their seats in pairs. and as i had expected, nobody sat beside him even though the bus was so crowded (mind u, doodoo & i waited 25mins for it, and there was a possibility that others did so too).
then came a lady, who climbed up the stairs and to my surprise, chose to sit beside him. i was shocked, not because i wouldn't do the same, but because i thought she would be like the other people on the bus - afraid of God knows what.
and then came the 2nd surprise. his first reaction was to adjust the wheelies of the air con to ensure that she would be getting her fair share of cool air. how sweet, i thought ;)
i also read in the newpaper one day (i can't rem'ber which), in the section Net Buzz, which serves to provide interesting snippets of life.
it seems the day's theme on Net Buzz was about "What is Love to Kids?".
there was this kid who explained a sight at home (i suppose), where his/her grandma has arthritis and finds it difficult to paint her toenails. i suppose it could get really painful at the joints if she tried to do so, but the kid's grandma LOVED to have her toenails beautified. so the kid's grandpa did it for the grandma instead. and the touching part came when i read that the grandpa himself suffers from painful arthritis on his hands and finger joints too. aww.
o well. there were many other sweetiepie and touching examples in that particular segment for that day. but the one above seemed to have touched me the most.
