all along, it has always been "absence makes the heart grow fonder". *absence of a loved one*.

but i remember some time ago, i've been hearing "abstinence makes the heart grow fonder" from quite a few peeps. should be people of my age or around my age, could be younger or slightly older, but its within the +/- 4 range. in what context, i can't rem'ber. can't even rem'ber who. but the essence is in the sentence.

FYI, abstinence refers to abstaining from sex, alcohol, food. blah. or at least i'd prefer to think so. or maybe abstaining oneself from shopping. haha.

so in a way, that makes the meaning of the whole sentence more notorious and puts good ol' plain innocent absence aside.

how sad isn't it. seeing that the term 'absence' in that sentence is absent in that sentence, it shows what teenagers are thinking of nowadays.

or at least, teenagers on the whole. i'm excluded.
